KING COUNTY, WA — A 43-year-old Tacoma man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle on State Route 167 in downtown Kent, according to Washington State Patrol.
The incident took place on a span of the highway just south of State Route 516, or West Meeker Street, at approximately 5:33 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the man was riding a 2014 Honda CTX700 motorcycle southbound in the far right lane when he was hit by a driver in an unknown vehicle making an improper lane change from lane #2 to lane #3. The impact of the crash caused the rider to eject as the motorcycle came to rest on the left shoulder. The other driver continued southbound without stopping.
The victim was rushed to Auburn Medical with undisclosed injuries. As of this writing, no updates on his condition have been shared. Authorities noted he was wearing a United States Department of Transportation-compliant helmet at the time of the crash.
No further information has been released regarding the suspect driver.
