News: Motorcyclist hurt after crashing into car on SR-3 near Grapeview

MASON COUNTY, WA — A 25-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized last Tuesday evening after crashing into a car on state Route 3 near Grapeview, according to iFiberone.

The accident happened on a stretch of SR-3 near the Mason Benson Road intersection on August 24th at approximately 5:17 p.m.

Washington State Patrol troopers said the motorcyclist was heading southbound on a sport bike when he tried to pass a semi-truck in a no-passing area. The rider then collided with a northbound vehicle turning left from the freeway onto Mason Benson Road.

The young motorcyclist was transported by airlift to Harborview Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

The involved driver was not reported injured.

Authorities have determined no drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
