News: Motorcyclist hit, killed in multi-vehicle wreck on US-2 near Monroe

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A 62-year-old Snohomish man died Wednesday evening after his motorcycle was struck by a driver on U.S. Highway 2 near central Monroe, according to KOMO News.

The fatal collision occurred on the eastbound highway near Old Owen Road, or East Main Street, at about 6:30 p.m.

An early investigation indicates the motorcyclist and drivers in three other vehicles were heading eastbound when traffic began to slow down. One driver was unable to stop their car in time and hit the motorcycle.

The impact of the crash caused the rider to eject from their bike, fatally injuring him.

It was unclear how the other two vehicles were involved, but no one else was reported injured.

At this time, no charges or citations have been reported.

An investigation by the Washington State Patrol remains in progress.
