News: Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle crash on I-5 in Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A motorcyclist was killed Thursday night after striking a road barrier on Interstate 5 in Tacoma, according to Q13 Fox.

Trooper Robert Reyer with Washington State Patrol said the accident happened at the I-5 offramp to state Route 7 at around 8:50 p.m.

The rider was reported to have died at the scene after what appeared to be single-vehicle crash.

Both northbound and southbound lanes on I-5 leading up to SR-7 were completely shut down as a result. The stretch of I-705 southbound leading to the SR-7 extension was also blocked as WSP investigated.

No other details have been reported on the circumstances around the accident.
