News: Motorcyclist dies after being hit by car in south Tacoma

TACOMA, WA — A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in a collision with another vehicle near the Excelsior neighborhood in south Tacoma, according to KOMO News.

The fatal crash took place at the intersection of South 56th Street and South J Street. It was first reported by Tacoma police at 2:37 p.m.

The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on S. 56th Street when a westbound vehicle turned left onto S. J Street and collided with the bike.

Police confirmed the rider died at the scene.

Authorities shut down S 56th Street in the area between S. J Street and S. Yakima Avenue for multiple hours during an investigation by the Collision Investigation Team.
