News: Man injured in collision on eastbound West Seattle Bridge at SR-99

SEATTLE, WA — A 71-year-old man was hurt in a crash Monday afternoon on the eastbound lanes of the West Seattle Bridge, according to West Seattle Blog.

The accident occurred near the State Route 99 overpass and was first reported by WSB at 3:08 p.m.

Authorities have not said what led up to the collision, but crew members with the Seattle Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, where eastbound motorists faced a significant traffic backup. Alternate routes were recommended.

The SFD later confirmed one person, the 71-year-old man, received treatment for minor injuries. It was unclear whether he had to be taken to a hospital.

By 3:39 p.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway.
