News: Man fatally injured in scooter crash with semi in Kent

KENT, WA — A man in his 50s was killed Tuesday afternoon after his electric scooter crashed into a semi truck in Kent, according to Kent Reporter.

The crash happened in the Washington Avenue North and West Meeker Street intersection around 2:20 p.m.

Police say the man was seen by witnesses to be weaving in and out of traffic moments before the incident, and did not appear to see the semi that was attempting a right turn from West Meeker Street.

The man was initially able to speak to officers and authorities with the Puget Sound Fire after the crash but later died at the scene.

The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
