LACEY, WA – A man was booked into the Thurston County Jail in connection with a crash that killed a female pedestrian in Lacey on Thursday.
The incident unfolded before 3:30 p.m. off the intersection of Pacific Avenue Southeast and Carpenter Road Southeast, according to Komo News. A man, who was suspected of impairment, struck a vehicle in a 7-Eleven parking lot. He attempted to flee the scene, came onto Pacific Avenue, struck two cars, crashed into the Reserve at Lacey building, and then crashed into a woman on the sidewalk.
Lacey Fire Rescue conducted CPR on the woman, who, unfortunately, died from her injuries at the scene.
EMS crews transported the male suspect and two other people to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The male suspect admitted to drinking before driving and said he had his 8-year-old child inside his vehicle.
Upon his release from the hospital, officials took him to jail. He is being accused of hit-and-run, reckless endangerment, and vehicular homicide.
