SEATTLE, WA – A 25-year-old male driver was arrested for DUI following a multi-vehicle wreck that took place in the Magnolia neighborhood on Saturday.
According to Seattle police, the 25-year-old man was operating a Nissan Rogue and traveling at a high rate of speed on the 3400th block of West Viewmont Way West when he lost control of his car and crashed into two parked vehicles — a BMW sedan and a Nissan Leaf, an electric vehicle.
The force of the collision caused the man’s vehicle to overturn and hit a power pole.
Seattle fire crews used a Jaws of Life to extricate the man from his vehicle before taking him to Harborview Medical Center.
The 25-year-old man was left with non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the police.
Seattle police said they found 12 cans of beer around the Nissan Rogue and arrested the Nissan driver and cited him for having an Open Alcohol Container in a Moving Vehicle and for Driving Too Fast for Road Conditions.
At the time of the reporting, police said they were corresponding with the attorney for the City of Seattle. They requested the lawyer file charges for Reckless Driving and DUI.
There appeared to be no occupants inside the parked vehicles at the time of the crash.
