GIG HARBOR, WA – Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard and Gig Harbor Fire responded to the scene of a tug boat accident in which the boat ran aground Monday morning.
According to Fox 13, the incident occurred sometime before 10 a.m.when the boat crashed into three nearby homes along the Gig Harbor shoreline.
Investigators are working to establish an official cause of the crash. They believe the captain may have fallen asleep at the helm.
Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the incident. However, the damages are estimated to be in the $250,000 range.
