TACOMA, WA – A lane change attempt led to a fatal crash on State Route 16 that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man over Valentine’s Day Weekend.
The collision occurred on Sunday at the intersection of westbound State Route 16 and 6th Avenue, according to Fox13Seattle. Washington State Patrol said a 21-year-old man, driving a Jeep Wrangler, was trying to change lanes and crashed into a barrier.
The Jeep overturned. And a 20-year-old male passenger, who did not wear his seatbelt, died from his injuries.
The 21-year-old male driver and two other passengers, a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old adult, wore seatbelts and died.
WSP is working to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor behind the crash.
