News: Impairment suspected in SeaTac 5-vehicle crash that sent 4 to hospital 

SEATAC, WA – Impairment was suspected in a five-vehicle crash that sent four people to local hospitals on Monday, according to King5. 

The crash took place on Interstate 5 North. Washington State Patrol determined that a driver of a Toyota Corolla, who was allegedly impaired, lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a Honda Fit. 

Moments later, three other vehicles crashed into the Honda Fit. 

The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to catch on fire. 

The Honda Fit driver was sent to Harborview Medical Center, and the driver and two passengers of the fourth vehicle were sent to Valley Medical Center for treatment. 

WSP said one driver was injured, but treated on the scene by EMS and did not need to go to the hospital. 

The driver and three passengers of the fifth vehicle were uninjured. 

WSP shut down the freeway at 12:30 a.m. and said closures lasted nearly five hours. During that time, traffic delays could be seen. 

No arrests or charges were reported.
