EVERETT, WA – A pedestrian was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver in the 4700 block of Colby Avenue on Friday evening.
According to KIRO 7 News, the 39-year-old male pedestrian was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. It was reported on Saturday that he would recover from his injuries.
Local authorities received a tip while investigating the crash about a vehicle that might have been involved. They discovered a 2001 Chevy Cruze in the 1600 block of Virginia Avenue that had damage consistent with a pedestrian collision.
The vehicle led them to a 31-year-old woman, whom they arrested for the hit-and-run as well as driving with a suspended license. She admitted under questioning to having hit the man and fled the scene.
Colby Avenue was closed temporarily in that area while police investigated.
When a pedestrian is hit by a motor vehicle, it is imperative they get immediate assistance for their injuries. Time is truly of the essence. If someone flees the crime scene, it puts the pedestrian in grave danger of not getting medical help in time. Were you or a loved one injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident?
