News: Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with pedestrian in Ballard

SEATTLE, WA – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man at 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Market Street on February 1, according to FOX 13.

The driver of a black or dark-colored 2018 to 2024 GMC Sierra hit Richard John ‘Ole’ Ward, 39, at 1:20 a.m. Ward was knocked 40 feet and was then run over again.

A witness saw the driver exit the truck to look at Ward. The suspect is described as being under 6 feet tall. He was wearing blue jeans with a black jacket. Following the collision, the driver headed east on Northwest Market Street.

Ward died as first responders were transporting him to an area hospital.

Ward’s family is partnering with Crime Stoppers to offer $5,000 to solve the case.
