News: Girl suffers severe injuries after Lake Tapps boat accident

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 9-year-old girl was hospitalized Monday evening after another party’s boat ran over an inner tube line on Lake Tapps, according to Q13 FOX Seattle.

The girl was on an inner tube when another person accidentally drove his boat over the towline and snapped the line, causing the girl to knock against the side of his boat.

The girl had to undergo surgery for injuries suffered on her face, including several lacerations and injuries to her cheek and orbital bones.

The at-fault man who fled the scene before authorities arrived later made contact through an attorney. He was reported to be cooperating in the investigation.
