News: Forks man injured in collision with logging truck

FORKS, WA – A motorist was airlifted to a Seattle hospital after his minivan collided with a fully loaded log truck Wednesday, Peninsula Daily News reports.

The incident happened near milepost 2 on Highway 110 shortly before 11 a.m. yesterday. The driver of a westbound 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve in the road and collided head-on with an eastbound logging truck. The minivan’s driver—later identified as 33-year-old Forks man Devere W. Sanchez—was transported by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center.

David Beebe, the 68-year-old driver of the truck, was uninjured.

That area of Highway 110 was closed to traffic until roughly 6:20 p.m.
