KING & PIERCE COUNTY, CO – Foggy weather was a contributing factor that led to a 21-car pileup near the King and Pierce County line on Monday.
Washington State Patrol told KOMO News that the incident unfolded on I-5 when 10 cars first crashed into debris on the road. Moments later, 11 cars crashed, resulting in the 21-car pile-up. Troopers described the crash as minor.
One person was hospitalized for unspecified injuries. Troopers responded to the scene after 5 a.m. and blocked several lanes before reopening all lanes at 9 a.m.
