RICHLAND, WA – According to KOMO, the family of the man who was allegedly struck and killed by an off-duty trooper on Washington 240 on March 1 is suing the trooper for wrongful death.
Trooper Sarah L. Clasen, 35, was reportedly impaired when she failed to yield the right of way and turned in front of a motorcycle ridden by Jhoser Sanchez on Washington 240 near Village Parkway. Sanchez died in the collision.
Authorities arrested Classen for the wreck. The investigation was turned over to the Richmond Police Department. They charged her with vehicular homicide with suspicion of DUI.
Officers who responded to the scene believe Clasen was impaired at the time of the crash.
