News: Falling tree factor in fatal crash in Carnation, fire crews say 

CARNATION, WA – A falling tree was a factor behind a fatal crash that occurred on State Route 203 north of Carnation on Saturday, officials confirm. 

Eastside Fire & Rescue and Redmond Fire told King5 that a falling tree had crashed into a southbound vehicle. Moments later, debris from the collision crashed into a northbound vehicle.

The southbound vehicle came to rest, and its driver succumbed to their injuries. 

EMS crews transported another person to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. 

Officials did not specify whether the surviving occupant was a driver or passenger. 

Authorities closed the highway for over three hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process and investigation.
