News: Emergency crews respond to crash on SR-167 SB in Renton

KING COUNTY, WA — A vehicle accident Tuesday morning blocked as many as two southbound lanes of State Route 167 in southwest Renton, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The wreck occurred on a stretch of southbound SR-167 south of the Interstate 405 interchange. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 7:06 a.m.

Officials have not indicated a possible cause of the crash, but the HOV lane was reported partially blocked in the immediate aftermath.

Footage taken at the scene suggests two vehicles were involved, with each vehicle coming to rest on opposite shoulders.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., crews had moved the vehicle blocking the HOV lane and were attending to the scene on the right shoulder. At least two fire engines can be observed at the scene, but it was unclear whether anyone was seriously hurt.

By 8:19 a.m., over an hour after the initial report, the scene was announced cleared.
