KING COUNTY, WA — Two men were pulled from a burning vehicle last Friday night, September 22, after a suspected DUI crash in Algona, according to KOMO News.
Algona Police and Algona Fire Department crews responded to the wreck on West Valley Highway, where they were also joined by Pacific Police and Valley firefighters.
The events leading up to the crash remain under investigation, but first responders arrived to find a vehicle crashed and burning in a ditch along the highway.
Body camera footage worn by responding officers show that the windows of the vehicle had to be broken in order to remove the two unconscious male occupants, believed to be in their 30s.
Authorities said both the driver and passenger were administered Narcan multiple times before they were rushed to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.
Investigators believe both men, determined to be from outside Algona, were impaired by narcotics. A loaded firearm with a full magazine was recovered from the floor of the vehicle.
An investigation remains underway, but the driver may face a DUI charge.
