News: DUI suspect on I-5 hits car at nearly 100 mph

GREENWOOD, WA – A DUI suspect going almost 100 mph rear-ended a vehicle on Southbound I-5 early Friday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol District 1, the driver of the high-speed car was arrested for DUI and vehicular assault. The crash happened on Southbound I-5 near Steilacoom-Dupont Rd at around 3:03 a.m.

At least one person in the car that was hit was injured. The extent and nature of their injuries are unknown at this time.

The right lane of Southbound I-5 was closed for approximately 3 hours while local authorities cleared and investigated the scene.
