SEATTLE, WA — A 22-year-old man was arrested for suspected impairment Friday afternoon after a crash on the West Seattle Bridge that left himself and another person injured, according to West Seattle Blog.
Seattle Police and members of the Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene on the westbound side of the bridge on July 7, at around 2:19 p.m.
While authorities have not disclosed an exact location or a sequence of events leading up to the accident, a Seattle Department of Transportation vehicle and one other vehicle were involved.
SDOT confirmed their vehicle, which is one of five Incident-Response trucks typically deployed around the city at any given time, was on its way to the scene of another incident when it was struck.
The crash resulted in injuries to a 39-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, identified as the suspected DUI driver of the striking vehicle. Both men were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
All lanes on the bridge were blocked off during the response and initial investigation but were reopened by 3:40 p.m.
