SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A male driver was taken into custody late Friday, September 29, after crashing a vehicle into an apartment building in south Everett, reports KOMO News.
The incident took place at Woodbrook Apartment Homes, off 112th Street Southeast, shortly after 11:45 p.m.
Everett Police has not specified the events leading up to the wreck, but the driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested after officers determined he was driving under the influence and in “possession of a controlled substance.”
While no serious injuries were reported, authorities said the residents of three units were left displaced by the crash.
At the time of KOMO News’ report, the striking car remained in the impacted building. The EPD said an “integral part” of the structure was struck and required an assessment by an engineer before crews could begin removing the vehicle.
It was unclear how long the residents are expected to remain displaced for, but the engineer was expected to review the damages within the same week.
