OKANOGAN COUNTY, WA — A 47-year-old Everett resident was taken into custody Saturday evening after crashing his pickup truck through a fire barrier on state Route 20 in Mazama, according to iFiberOne.
The incident occurred at around 6:40 p.m. on a stretch of SR-20 in Mazama that was closed as a precaution to a wildfire threat in the area.
The driver was heading eastbound in a Ford F-150 pickup truck when he crashed through one barrier and drove through another before officers were able to stop him.
The causing driver was arrested and booked into Okanogan County Jail. He will be charged with DUI, hit-and-run, and reckless driving.
