MERCER ISLAND, WA – Firefighters worked for nearly a half-hour to free a man who was trapped in his SUV after a rollover crash on Mercerwood Island Wednesday evening.
According to the Mercer Island Reporter, the accident occurred at 5:45 p.m.within the 9300 block of Mercerwood Drive.
Police believe the unidentified 73-year-old male driver was traveling at a moderate rate of speed when the vehicle swerved off the road and struck a rock, causing it to roll onto its side.
First responders took just under 30 minutes to extricate the man from his vehicle. He was uninjured but taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
