PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Tuesday morning after their car collided with a tree off Interstate 5 near Fife, reports KOMO News.
Washington State Patrol said the fatal collision occurred on the southbound lanes just south of Porter Way. It was first reported by Trooper Robert Reyer at 4:19 a.m.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but authorities confirmed the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
WSP instructed motorists to pass through the area slowly during the investigation.
