News: Driver hospitalized after striking semi on US-101 near Hoodsport

MASON COUNTY, WA — A 61-year-old Seattle man was injured Sunday morning when his car collided with a tractor trailer on U.S. Highway 101 near Hoodsport, according to MasonWebTV.

Washington State Patrol said the man was driving southbound on the highway at approximately 11:30 a.m. when his car drifted across the center line near milepost 332. The vehicle then hit a northbound semi-truck driven by a 42-year-old Raymond man.

The causing driver was rushed by ambulance to Olympia’s St. Peters Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The driver of the semi was not reported injured.

An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the accident.
