News: Driver hospitalized after crash with parked vehicle on SR-99 in Lynnwood

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person was critically injured Friday afternoon when they crashed a car into a parked vehicle along State Route 99 in Lynnwood, according to FOX 13 Seattle.

The accident took place on the southbound lanes of SR-99 near 148th Street Southwest shortly before 1:00 p.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a driver was heading south on the highway when their car traveled off the roadway and struck a utility pole and a parked vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

The causing driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.

Authorities noted the parked vehicle was occupied at the time of the accident, but did not say whether anyone else was injured.

Two right lanes of SR-99 southbound were shut down during the investigation.
