News: Driver hits, kills 3-year-old girl while backing into parking space in Bellevue

BELLEVUE, WA – A driver fatally collided with a 3-year-old girl while backing into a parking space in an apartment complex on the 14100 block of SE 4th St on Tuesday, according to KING 5.

A mother and daughter were walking when a 45-year-old man driving a Chevy Silverado was backing into the parking space and struck the child around 7 p.m.

The mother attempted life-saving efforts for the child. First responders pronounced the girl dead at the scene.

Following the collision, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The Bellevue Police Department is investigating the incident. They have not yet determined if the collision is under criminal investigation.
