SEATTLE, WA – The driver of an SUV was extricated from his vehicle and transported to a hospital after colliding with a utility truck on Airport Way on Friday morning, reports KOMO News.
According to authorities, officers and emergency responders arrived on the scene around 10:50 a.m. near the intersection of Airport Way and South College Street, where they found a totalled Dodge Durango and a damaged utility truck belonging to Seattle City Light.
The preliminary investigation revealed the SUV was traveling the wrong way in the Airport Way northbound lanes when it crashed into the truck which subsequently struck a power pole.
The driver of the SUV was stuck inside the totalled Dodge Durange and required extrication from emergency responders. He was then transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Two others were injured in the collision and received medical care at the accident scene, though it is unclear what vehicle they were in.
Airport Way near South College Street was temporarily closed following the accident.
