News: Driver dies after hitting multiple trees in Seattle’s Ballard area

SEATTLE, WA — A man in his 40s died last Friday morning after a single-vehicle collision in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, according to FOX13 Seattle.

The fatal wreck occurred off the southbound lanes of 15th Avenue Northwest near Northwest 77th Street, shortly before 5:30 a.m.

Investigators learned the man was driving an older-model Nissan Pathfinder when he veered off the roadway. He then clipped a tree, and broke a second tree in half before his vehicle came to rest wrapped around a third tree.

Seattle Fire Department crews responded to the scene and extricated the driver and sole occupant from the wreckage.

The SFD said the victim died in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

An investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.
