News: Driver crashes into transformer, causing major outages in Redmond

KING COUNTY, WA — Major power outages and traffic delays were reported Tuesday afternoon after a driver crashed into a transformer in Redmond, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

The collision occurred at the corner of Northeast 90th Street and 160th Avenue Northeast, near Bella Bottega Shopping Center.

Details remain limited at this time, but the Redmond Police Department said a single-vehicle wreck was to blame for serious outages and traffic congestion in the area.

Officials advised drivers to make complete stops at nearby intersections, where traffic lights were also impacted.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the crash has not been disclosed.
