News: Driver crashes car into barrier on I-5 offramp in central Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A single-vehicle accident was reported late Friday morning on Interstate 5 near central Tacoma, according to Trooper Robert Reyer with Washington State Patrol.

The collision occurred on the ramp connecting I-5 northbound to I-705 and East 26th Street. It was first reported by WSP at 11:37 p.m.

Details are limited, but state troopers and Tacoma Fire crews responded to the scene where the right lane was closed to traffic.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was seriously hurt, and no other updates have been provided.
