News: Driver crashes after car struck by rock on I-90 in Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — A male driver was involved in a single-car crash Monday night after his vehicle was struck by a rock along Interstate 90 in Seattle, according to KIRO 7 News.

The man was driving a black Dodge Challenger eastbound along I-90 near Rainer Avenue South when the car was suddenly hit by a rock at the 23rd Avenue South overpass.

The falling rock caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle as it hit the barrier before landing in the HOV lane.

The driver sustained facial injuries from the incident and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. His condition has not been disclosed.

The Challenger’s windshield was shattered and its body was heavily damaged.

Washington State Patrol troopers are currently investigating whether or not the rock was thrown by another party.
