News: Driver cited after causing rollover collision in Edmonds

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A driver was issued a citation Monday morning after a two-vehicle collision in northeast Edmonds that sent the other car onto its roof, according to My Edmonds News.

Edmonds Police said the crash happened near 196th Street Southwest and 88th Avenue West at about 8:00 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a woman was driving southbound on 88th Avenue when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. Moments later, as she turned right onto 196th Street, her vehicle clipped the front-end of a westbound vehicle.

Officials said the contact caused the second driver to swerve into the eastbound lanes before veering back into the westbound lanes and slamming through a cyclone fence. That crash caused the victim vehicle to flip onto its roof.

Despite the property damage, no injuries to either driver or anyone else were reported.

Edmonds Police confirmed the first driver was cited for her failure to stop at the stop sign.

No further information has been released as of this writing.
