News: Driver airlifted to hospital after striking wall in Silverdale

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A 53-year-old man was left seriously injured Sunday evening after a single-vehicle collision in Silverdale, according to Kitsap Sun.

The accident happened on Newberry Hill Road near Emery Boulevard at around 5:00 p.m.

An early investigation by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office suggests the man was behind the wheel of a vehicle when he suffered a medical emergency. He then veered past the center line of the road and hit a retaining wall.

Medics initially rushed the victim to St. Michael Medical Center but he was later airlifted to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.

Officials have not released further information at this time.
