News: Cyclist critically hurt by hit-and-run driver in Kitsap County

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — One person was hospitalized with critical injuries Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bike near Kingston, according to FOX 13 Seattle.

The incident took place in the area of Northeast Evening Star Lane and Hansville Road Northeast, some time between 5:10 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

While the circumstances of the event are still being investigated, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the victim was on a bicycle when they were hit by a black vehicle that fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center, where they were listed in critical condition.

No other specific vehicle details have been released, but officials noted that the suspect vehicle is missing its passenger side mirror, which was left behind at the scene.

An investigation and search for the hit-and-run suspect remain ongoing.
