News: Cyclist airlifted after crash with parked truck in Silverdale

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A man in his 20s was seriously hurt Tuesday afternoon when he struck a parked vehicle while riding a bicycle in northeast Silverdale, reports Kitsap Sun.

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews responded to the scene at Silverdale Way Northwest and Ridgetop Boulevard Northwest, near Silverdale Plaza. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 3:40 p.m.

Little information has been shared at this time, but authorities said the man was on a bike when he struck a vehicle parked along the road. Kitsap Sun describes the parked vehicle as a “truck,” but it was unclear whether the vehicle was a pickup or a semi.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported by airlift to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.

No updates on the patient’s condition and no further details have been released at this time.
