News: Crews respond to wreck on I-5 NB onramp near Georgetown

SEATTLE, WA — Emergency crews were called to a crash Tuesday morning on an Interstate 5 entrance ramp in Seattle’s Georgetown area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident impacted the I-5 northbound onramp from South Michigan Street, north of King County International Airport. It was first reported by WSDOT at 6:15 a.m.

Officials have not said what led up to the wreck, but the entrance ramp was shut down in the immediate aftermath. By 6:49 a.m., Fire Assistance crews and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) had responded to the scene.

The closure remained in place for over an hour after the initial report and was later lifted at 7:21 a.m.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.
