News: Crews respond to multi-car crash, fires on East Channel Bridge

KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple vehicles caught fire Tuesday morning after a crash on Interstate 90 over the East Channel Bridge into Bellevue, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

The collision occurred on the eastbound lanes approaching Bellevue Way Southeast. Washington State Patrol troopers and Bellevue Fire Department crews responded to the scene shortly after 7:00 a.m.

It was unclear what circumstances led up to the multi-vehicle accident, but by 7:45 a.m., firefighters had contained the flames.

At this time, officials have not released any details regarding potential injuries.

The eastbound interstate was shut down during the emergency response, creating a 4-mile traffic backup.

At around 9:00 a.m., crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
