News: Crews called to collision on I-5 NB in west Kent

KING COUNTY, WA — Emergency crews responded to a vehicle crash Friday morning on Interstate 5 in Kent’s Midway area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The wreck took place on the northbound lanes just before Exit 149A to State Route 516. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 6:40 a.m.

Authorities have not said what led up to the accident, but the two left northbound lanes were blocked in the immediate aftermath. By 6:49 a.m., the scene had been moved to the right lane and right shoulder.

It was unclear whether anyone was seriously injured, but footage captured at the scene shows at least two fire engines responding.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m., all lanes were announced reopened as crews had cleared all vehicles to the shoulder.
