News: Crews called to collision on I-5 NB in south Federal Way

KING COUNTY, WA — Emergency crews responded to a crash Wednesday morning that blocked the right center lane on Interstate 5 in south Federal Way, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

WSOT first reported the wreck on the northbound lanes, just south of Exit 142A to State Route 18, at 8:20 a.m.

Officials have not elaborated on the circumstances, but traffic footage captured at the scene suggests a semi-truck was involved.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was seriously injured, but commuters were told to expect delays in the area.

By 8:42 a.m., crews had cleared the accident to the right shoulder, and all travel lanes were reopened. A substantial emergency response remained.
