News: Crash with major damage closes roads in Renton

RENTON, WA – Local authorities shut down eastbound lanes at NE Sunset Blvd & Sunset Blvd NE due to a car crash on Tuesday evening.

Renton Police Department posted on their Twitter page that the accident happened in the intersection of the two roads at around 9:57 p.m.

Eastbound lanes were closed until around 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing, but authorities believe excessive speed and running a red light could be a possible cause.

Injuries were reported, but it is unclear how many people were injured and how badly.
