News: Crash blocks two lanes on I-405 SB near Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A vehicle collision Thursday morning closed two lanes on Interstate 405 near Lynnwood’s Alderwood Mall, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

On I-405 southbound at I-5/SR525 there is a collision blocking the left lane.

The accident took place on the southbound lanes near the Interstate 5/State Route 525 merge. It was first reported by WSDOT shortly before 7:00 a.m.

Authorities initially only reported one lane closed, but by 7:20 a.m., the closure was upgraded to two lanes.

Traffic was briefly able to get by through the shoulder, but southbound traffic came to a standstill as emergency crews worked the scene.

By 7:28 a.m., traffic began moving again, and at 8:35 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
