News: Crash blocks multiple lanes on Highland Park Way SW in West Seattle

WEST SEATTLE, WA — Crews were dispatched to a collision early Thursday in West Seattle’s Riverview neighborhood, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The accident took place on Highland Park Way Southwest at West Marginal Way Southwest, near West Duwamish Greenbelt. It was first reported by SDOT at 1:30 a.m.

Officials had the right and center westbound lanes closed for at least 45 minutes following the initial report, but no information about the cause of the wreck or the involved vehicles has been shared.

A photo taken at the crash site shows a white SUV at rest off the roadway.

By 2:17 a.m., the scene had been cleared from the intersection and all travel lanes were restored to traffic.

It was not immediately apparent whether anyone had to be taken to a hospital.
