News: Collision closes section of 3rd Ave in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — Authorities were dispatched to a crash late Tuesday night that closed part of 3rd Avenue in downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The accident impacted all lanes between James Street and Cherry Street, near Pioneer Square, shortly before 11:51 p.m.

It’s unclear at this time what led up to the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, but motorists were asked to find alternate routes around the area.

By 12:16 a.m., more than 25 minutes later, the scene was reported cleared, with all travel lanes reopened to traffic.

Local agencies have not confirmed any injuries or hospitalizations following the incident.
