News: Collision closes I-5 SB offramp near Seattle’s South Lake Union

SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident late Monday afternoon blocked an Interstate 5 offramp near Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

The collision occurred on the I-5 southbound offramp to Mercer Street and was first reported by WSDOT at 3:35 p.m.

On the I-5 southbound off-ramp to Mercer St there is a collision partially blocking the ramp.

Authorities projected the ramp would remain closed to traffic for an extended duration, but no estimated clearance time was reported.

Commuters were asked to divert around the area.

No further information has been released on the circumstances behind the crash.
