News: Chickens fall onto I-5 in DuPont after semi-truck crashes and overturns 

DUPONT, WA – A semi-truck crashed and overturned on I-5 North, leading several live chickens on board the truck to fall out on Friday, KOMO News said.

The truck rollover collision took place around 1 a.m. near Mounts Road. The Washington Department of Transportation had to close three lanes to allow crews to clean up debris from the crash and reopened all lanes around 6 a.m.

Washington State Patrol later confirmed the driver fell asleep at the wheel, which led to the crash. Troopers cited him for second-degree negligent driving. It’s unclear if the driver was injured, and officials did not say if any chickens were harmed or killed as a result of the collision.
