News: Bus driver seriously hurt in crash with industrial truck in Silverdale

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — Two people were injured, one seriously, after a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus and an industrial truck in north Silverdale, according to KIRO 7 News.

Kitsap County deputies and Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews responded to the scene in the 3500 block of Northwest Half Miles at about 3:16 p.m.

Details are limited, but first responders had to extricate the bus driver, who had become entrapped in their seat as a result of the crash. The victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.

A worker who was an occupant in the tree service utility truck was said to have been “thrown” in the crash, but was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities confirmed three students were on the bus at the time, but all were able to safely exit the vehicle. They were evaluated by paramedics before being released from the scene.
